Using RSS Feeds
RSS (Real Simple Syndication) is like email for news content. RSS is easy to use and if you visit even one site everyday, you should use it.
In order to use RSS, you need two things:
- An RSS feed reader; and
- RSS feeds
A variety of feed readers exist. Ryan personally uses NetNewsWire (Mac), distributed by NewGator. Newsgator also distributes FeedDemon (Windows). Both of these programs are free and by signing up for the Newsgator service, your RSS feeds will always be synced reardless of the computer you read them on. Many other readers exist for nearly every operating system. In addition, many web browsers and email programs have feed reading ability.
Once you download and setup your feed reader, you need to populate it with your feeds. Start by subscribing to Jarjac. You can do so manually by adding the feed: http://jarjac.com/feed/ to your feed reader. Or, if your feed reader is set as the default reader, click here to subscribe.
