Sorry for the lack of updates lately. All of us at Jarjac are knee-deep in law school finals right now, so we hope you understand the conflict. We’ll be back, ready to publish some great content in a couple weeks.
Jarjac has seen steady growth during the last two months. We want to continue expanding and plan to come back strong in mid-May. With summer only a couple finals away, we’re looking forward to finally working towards some of the larger goals we envision for the site. We’ll be writing more. We’ll unveil new features. We even hope to get you, our readers, more involved. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. . If you have any suggestions for articles you’d like to read in the future, please let us know below in the comments.
Summer means warmth, longer days, more leisure time, and vacation. It’s a great time to hit the beach, relax, and regress back to your carefree youthful days of summer. It’s also a great time to accomplish some things you don’t normally find time for.
I think it’s a good idea to set personal goals for the summer. I end up accomplishing more that way. You should try it. I’d be interested in hearing what others have planned. Leave a comment!
Perhaps you’re curious what my goals are for the summer? Here’s a peak:
Ryan’s goals for Summer 2008
- Experience Grand Theft Auto IV. I’ve never been so hyped for a game. The soundtrack gets me excited for summer drives with the windows down. The game is unbelievably immersive, so much so that it’s completely distracting when you find something in the game that doesn’t quite behave as if it were real. The satire is wonderful. If you’ve been missing out on the hype, check it out
- Read Atlas Shrugged I’ve had this book on my list for over a year now. Unfortunately, my high school never introduced me to Ayn Rand and so I’ve only recently discovered about her objectivist ideas. Rand describes objectivism in the 35th anniversary of Atlas Shrugged as
My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute.
I’m want to know more. - Attend the Stone Temple Pilots reunion tour. STP is one of the top rock bands of the 90s and since learning that front man Scott Weiland worked things out with guitarist Dean DeLeo, I’ve been waiting to see the band perform. Supposedly, they are in studio recording a new album.
- Head to the beach as much as possible. I want to be outdoors as much as possible this summer. I don’t care what I’m doing, I don’t care where I am, but I want to be outside.
- Finish season one of Lost. I started watching Lost this semester and I’m hooked. I hear the show starts to become frustrating after a while, but right now, I’m hooked.
- Check out The Dark Knight, Wall-E, and Get Smart in theaters. Summer gets all the blockbusters. I can’t wait to see these movies. I’m a huge Pixar fan. Heath Ledger looks incredible as Joker, and Spy films, even humorous ones, are awesome.
- Attempt to write onto law review. My topic? Corporate healthcare.
- Read a few more books. I have a list of things I’d like to read, since I don’t have the time in law school. I want to reread The 4-hour Workweek and Blink. I recently picked up Blue Ocean Strategy and Death of a Salesman. I also want to read Options: The Secret Life of Steve Jobs, A Parody, and The Hedonism Handbook. We’ll see how far I get.
- Work on Jarjac. Hopefully you’ll enjoy what we have planned.
What do you have planned?
